About the Role

ComPsych is seeking a senior commercial leader to serve as Business Development Director – APAC. This role is responsible for targeting prospect companies and partners across Asia Pacific to drive new sales, with a particular focus on multinational clients that have large APAC workforces.

As the senior commercial sales lead for the region, this individual will own the APAC new-business target and the regional go-to-market plan, and will play a significant role in shaping ComPsych's regional growth and partnership strategy.

What You'll Do

Strategic Business Development

  • Own the APAC new-business target; develop and execute an aggressive go-to-market plan and strategy for lead generation and qualification across priority APAC markets.
  • Strategically manage the sales process, including requests for proposals (RFPs), contract negotiations, and deal closings, including multi-country deals coordinated through regional headquarters.
  • Partner with senior commercial leadership on large global deals, leading the APAC portion and representing the APAC perspective in finalist presentations.
  • Collaborate with ComPsych business leaders to communicate ComPsych's services and value proposition to APAC buyers.
  • Perform pipeline tracking and sales process reporting.

Partner and Distribution Relationships

  • Develop relationships with direct prospects, brokers, benefits consultants, insurers, and other distribution partners across the region.
  • Build and manage partner and white-label relationships (insurers, consultants, regional EAP providers) to extend ComPsych's reach in markets where direct selling is less effective.
  • Act as ComPsych's senior sales representative in the region with consultant practice leaders, insurer partners, and client executives, including at industry forums.

Customer Retention and Expansion

  • Work with the Customer Success team on regional upsells and renewals, including APAC expansion within existing global clients.

Market Insight and Planning

  • Provide insights on competitor activity, pricing, local regulation, and service needs to the Customer Success, Marketing, Product, Operational and Clinical teams.
  • Recommend the regional resourcing plan (business development support, partner management) as the pipeline scales.

General

  • Work across time zones, including periodic calls overlapping US business hours, and travel across the region as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What We're Looking For

Required

  • Bachelor's degree required (MBA preferred) and a stable work history.
  • At least 10 years of experience selling business services in APAC, including at least 5 years in a senior regional (multi-country) business development or sales leadership role, in one of the following areas: EAP and Work-Life Services; Mental Health, Health and Wellness Programs; Employee Benefits or Group Insurance; Corporate HR Services; or Benefits Consulting with a top-tier global firm.
  • Proven track record of consistently exceeding regional sales quotas, including closing complex multi-country deals.
  • Experience selling multi-country programs to multinationals, working with global and regional headquarters (e.g., Singapore, Hong Kong) as well as local decision makers.
  • Established list of key HR, benefits leader, and consultant/broker contacts across APAC for immediate utilization.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a complex sales process of prospecting, lead qualification, sales strategy development, and relationship building.
  • Working knowledge of how EAP and well-being programs are bought and delivered in APAC, including insurer-embedded EAP, local provider networks, and data-privacy rules.
  • Analytical, organizational, and planning skills for forecasting, pipeline tracking, and reporting.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills; experience presenting to and negotiating with C-suite and senior HR executives and working across cultures.
  • Good understanding of sales tools, including but not limited to CRM platforms (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics 365, Salesforce) and MS Office.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Based in, or willing to relocate to, a regional hub (Singapore preferred; Hong Kong considered) with the right to work there.

Preferred

  • Bilingual Language Proficiency in Mandarin or Japanese.
  • Strong network of business connections relevant to the industry and role.
